CITERES Unit – UMR 7324
The CITERES unit brings together researchers, teacher-researchers, PhD students and staff from the university of Tours, the CNRS and the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées Centre-Val de Loire (INSA CVL). The unit’s main objective is to analyze the spatial and territorial dynamics of societies. CITERES contributes to five main areas of research: urban studies, environment, heritage, territory and the effects of contemporary social recompositions. CITERES’ work covers distinct cultural areas and historical periods, and is highly interdisciplinary in nature (archaeology, history, anthropology, sociology, geography, demography, spatial planning, urbanism).
It is organized into four teams:
- Social and political construction of spaces, norms and trajectories (CoST)
- Arab World and Mediterranean Team (EMAM)
- Territorial and environmental dynamics and actions (DATE)
- Archaeology and Territories Laboratory (LAT)
