Context

As part of the Sycomore programme, in collaboration with Fibois and Centre Sciences, we have developed an innovative teaching kit. Its aim is to stimulate thought, arouse curiosity and encourage discussion among primary school pupils in region Centre-Val-de-Loire in France.

Discover the Arbothèque: an educational kit with 9 interactive workshops on trees, forests and climate change.

This educational pack is designed to help children explore the following themes:

  • Tree species recognition,
  • Estimating the age of trees,
  • The world’s main forests,
  • Tree anatomy,
  • Tree density,
  • Microscopic observations,
  • Forest biodiversity,
  • Forest-related occupations and leisure activities.

This educational pack will be available free of charge from autumn onwards to anyone in the Centre-Val de Loire region, France, wishing to introduce primary schoolchildren to the world of the forest.
